About me

Welcome to Sewsational Handmade Studio. I’m a mum to my three gorgeous children (S1, S2 and S3) and wife to my amazing and supportive husband Dave (Mr Sewsational). I have a love for fabric and all things creative and my little business venture is all about sharing this love with my customers. 

My mum taught me to sew when I was little and since then it’s been an on again off again affair until having my own children in the last ten years. 

 
I started this little biz journey in Perth back in 2017 and since then have I’ve completed my studies in Fashion Design and Technology and relocated with the family back to our home state of Queensland, residing in Brisbane. 

 
Sewsational Handmade Studio is about creating fun and stylish handmade fashions and gifts for women, kids and bubs. Since completing my course and my desire to sew my own wardrobe, I have a real interest in creating fun, practical and comfortable wear for women. My primary focus in the last two years has been on the kids and while I will continue this path, I will also slowly introduce a range of ladies’ garments. The term ‘slow fashion’ is something I’m passionate about, quality handmade items that are made, wash and wear well. Producing such garments has a great benefit to the environment and our future generations and something we can all easily contribute to.

Most of my shop is made to order. I generally don’t stock large quantities of any one fabric, and this is for two reasons. Firstly, I like to sew unique garments that are not flooding the market and secondly I get bored sewing the same thing over and over. I love to create and design and therefore variety is my aim.
